Specialisterne Canada specializes in working with businesses to hire people on the autism spectrum or who identify as neurodivergent. Presently, Specialisterne Canada is working with TD Bank to recruit for positions in the Toronto area.

Role Description

 

SENIOR BUSINESS INSIGHTS ANALYST
Full-time, Permanent
Remote/Downtown Toronto

Core Tasks:

  • Process requests for data analysis from various internal business units 
  • Utilize SQL to retrieve data from several sources in order to fulfill internal customer requests
  • Use Python and Microsoft Excel to manipulate and organize data sets in order to deliver data in an efficient and clear manner
  • Create data visualizations in order that internal customers can identify trends, patterns, and outliers within large data sets
  • Receive direction and guidance from senior team members  and manager to support professional development 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field
  • Experience or knowledge of SQL 
  • Experience or knowledge of Python programming language 
  • Basic Microsoft Excel Skills (data entry, filters, simple formulas)  
  • Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • A strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all activities 
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team 

Nice to have (not required):

SENIOR BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & REPORTING ANALYST

Core Tasks:

  • Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards, and scorecards for internal business units
  • Craft comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized data marts and external data sources
  • Create data visualizations that translate large data sets into concise and actionable items for business units
  • Validate data quality and integrity in all reporting
  • Understand business drivers, definitions and metrics in order to interpret findings, take action and provide relevant direction
  • Maintain knowledge of main data sources within the business unit and effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposes

Requirements: 

  • Experience or knowledge of SQL 
  • Experience or knowledge of Tableau or Power BI
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

SECURITY AND PROCESS CONTROL ANALYST

Core Tasks:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of internal security engineering applications by reviewing documentation, processes and procedures, and data dictionaries. 
  • Document requirements for security application changes or updates as directed by the Information Security Manager
  • Facilitate in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban 
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Information Security Manager across a variety of Security Engineering support projects

Requirements:

  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the Cybersecurity/Information Security field
  • Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)

CRYPTOGRAPHY DATA ANALYST
Full-time, Permanent
Remote/Scarborough, Ontario

Core Taks:

  • Use network tools to detect and identify security certificate attributes for a wide variety of devices (servers, printers, phones, etc.)
  • Notify senior team members and manager of Crypto oversight of devices with low encryption strength
  • Research and cross-reference device certificate attributes against accepted encryption standards to ensure security compliance 
  • Search and discover device owners utilizing internal tools and established procedures to maintain up to date documentation
  • Analyze data as directed by senior team members and managers to be used for reporting 

Requirements:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, specifically Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
  • A desire to learn and grow in the information security and cryptography fields 

Nice to have (not required): 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, or related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Macros, VBA, etc.)

MARKET RISK ANALYST III
Full-time, Permanent
Remote/ Toronto (Financial District)

Core Tasks:

  • Analyze internal and external financial market data
  • Verify market valuation of securities using multiple sources to ensure accuracy of data
  • Perform reviews of peer work in order to verify accuracy of information
  • Communicate status updates, challenges, and questions to team members and manager

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma
  • Fundamental knowledge of Financial Markets and Basic Economics
  • Intermediate Excel skills  (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST

Core Tasks:

  • Review cases of internal employee conduct and follow outlined procedures for applying a risk factor to the employee  depending on the level of seriousness of the case
  • Downgrade internal employees when procedures were not followed by employees
  • Communicate the downgrade of an employee to the employee and the employee’s manager if the case outcome determines  the employee is a high risk
  • Work on internal employee case reviews for multiple potential fraud types
  • Maintain knowledge of main procedure resources within the business unit and effectively utilize procedures for case review purposes

FRAUD OPERATIONS OFFICER
Full-time, Permanent
Remote/Markham

 Core Tasks:

  • Process queue of open cases to determine correct next steps for accounts slated for closure by following appropriate procedures
  • Notify clients of account closures, which can also include credit revokages, via written letter
  • Delay account closures to ensure the client receives any positive balance due 
  • Determine accounts that are negative and escalate them to collections
  • Determine if a case needs further review by a Team Manager or Business Unit
  • Follow established procedures to determine appropriate action needed on accounts in the Fraud Operations queue 

 Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to follow established procedures accurately
  • Basic Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks

CORPORATE ACTUARIAL ANALYST

Core Tasks:

  • Research and analyze large data sets based on market changes to ensure proper valuations
  • Run hypothetical data models based on changing factors such as unemployment rate, insurance rates, claims information, etc. 
  • Identify and review claims data to ensure actuarial models are accurate 
  • Share data analysis findings with internal teams and manager
  • Take advantage of independent study hours to work towards certification by the Casualty Actuarial Society

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field
  • Experience or knowledge of Programming Languages (R, C++, Python, etc.) 
  • Advanced Excel Skills (ability to run macros)

RISK ANALYST

Core Tasks:

  • Run reports from Access database for loan monitoring and loan request determinations
  • Monitor asset-secured loans listed on report from Access database to determine if risk associated with the loan has changed
  • Approve or make recommendations for loan approval based on sufficiency of collateral and other financial factors to support the loan request, as outlined in TD policies
  • Communicate with team and manager via email and Microsoft Teams

Requirements: 

  • Diploma or Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics

The Recruitment Process

Registration

The first step in the recruitment process is for interested candidates to apply for the roles. This will involve completing an online questionnaire as well as submitting their resume to Specialisterne Canada. Instructions for applying are included below. Applicants will be shortlisted for participation in the next step based on a review of each online questionnaire and assessing the likelihood of fit for the roles for which we are recruiting.

Employment Discovery Workshop

The next step in the Specialisterne recruitment process is an Employment Discovery Workshop. It is a hands-on, task-based experience where you will work on specific projects in a virtual setting. It is an opportunity to learn about our approach to hiring, and for us to get to know you – what motivates you, your interests and your skills.

Training Program

Candidates whose profiles are well-suited for the roles for which we are recruiting will be invited to participate in a four-week skills evaluation and training program on the employer’s site. It will include case studies, real-life projects, as well as on-site training relevant to the roles and working environment.

Employment

Employment offers are made to the candidates with the best fit. Once accepted, the individuals will transition into their positions at the organization. Specialisterne Canada will provide support where necessary, which may include modifications to the work environment.
